Japanese traditional art en performance Leiden

Yesterday my bf and I went to a Japanese traditional art en performance event in Leiden. Not in kimono because of the weather and a little bit late. Still we saw the main part of the show which was great to see and listen too. There was a kimonoshow, some dance, folk song and music with drums and shamisen.
Madam Sumi Sasajima is President of Japan kimono culture museum, lecturer of Waseda university and artist of kimono dressing. Here are some photo's of this great event.

Furisode

Yesterday we had a party and I wanted to wear a kimono. Since I have a beautiful furisode which never been worn this was the one. It took me some time because the long sleeves got in the way but in the end it wasn't that bad.

And I really like the shoes with this furisode, what do you think?

Have a great week.

Kitty ladder

I have a kimono tansu which I love but also is loved by my cats. Because the tansu is very high the most simple way was to climb on the front to the top with there lovely nails, which left my tansu with beautiful scratches.
So we had to think about a solution and it had to be a way they could climb on the tansu and would be lovely to look at. This is how it looks nowadays.

Have a lazy sunday.

High heels

I am not the type of girl which wear high heels because however I think the shoes often look great, they aren't really comfortable and I am not just to walk on this kind of shoes.
When I saw these, I fell in love and thought that I probably could walk on them but it is not that easy but still they look beautiful.

So here they are, my new oiran shoes:

Have a great weekend.

Iro Muji

It's been a while since I've done kitsuke, I guess the last time was in august when I went with some KDJ members to the floriade in Venlo. So last night it was time or rather I took the time to practice.
Last april I bought a greenisch/blueisch gray Iro Muji because the colour looked beautiful and I didn't have a silk Iro Muji. So this one was selected for my doll "Annie" with an  nagoya obi with beautifull doves. I really love obi with animals prints. The colour of the obi age/obi jime are orange which is a nice combination.
Here the results of this combination;

Visiting Rome

A few weeks ago my BF had to go to Rome for work, so I thought that it would be fun to come along because I never been to Rome. It's a beautiful city with a great amount of history which you can find every wear. So if you have the chance to visit this beautiful city, I can recommend it but we went in July so it was very c rowdy and hot, if you are planning to go do it in august or September because it will be less hotter and less tourist.
As a kimono lover I always look for kimono store when I visit a city so also in Rome and yes I found a store. Unfortunately it was very expensive but what a beauties they had.The store is called Antichi kimono.
I also visited another Japanese store but can't remember the name or the street.
Here are some pictures;
